A man was stable after being hit by gunfire Monday night inside Castleton Square Mall as holiday shoppers filled the stores and an adjacent movie theater, police say.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday, and the man injured showed up at Eskenazi Hospital roughly an hour later, police said.
