Crystal Palace are considering entering the transfer market this month for a centre-back after Chadi Riad sustained a serious knee injury in training. The Morocco international is expected to miss the remainder of this season and Palace’s pre-season campaign for next term as a result of the injury.

There are also major concerns that Cheick Doucoure will miss the rest of the season through injury. The Mali international had his minutes managed after suffering a serious Achilles injury against Luton in November 2023 and was just getting back to full fitness.
