Governor Greg Abbott has increased Texas' State Operations Center readiness level to Level II, ensuring rapid deployment of resources to address winter weather hazards and protect residents across the state.

Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to increase its readiness level ahead of winter weather.

Because temperatures will be at or below freezing for much of the state all week, Governor Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response resources.
