After premiering this Wednesday in the US, The CW has moved the Anna Symon-created true crime drama Joan to Fridays at 9pm ET starting Oct. 11, switching time slots with Inside the NFL.

Sophie Turner, in her underwear, is putting the finishing touches to her make-up in a grand hotel suite. As the camera pans towards her, she pulls on a brunette wig, buttons a satin jacket over her heavily scarred body and rootles for a diamond ring in a vanity case stuffed with banknotes.

Joan Hannington became known as one of Britain's most notorious jewel thieves. She swallowed diamonds and became known as 'The Godmother' in London's criminal underworld in the 1980s. Her 2002 memoir I Am What I Am gave an incredible account of Joan's life and her criminal exploits and rapidly became a best-selling book.
