More than a week after workers fled flooding outside their factory, much remains unclear, including how many died.

The families of the 11 Tennessee plastics plant workers swept away by Hurricane Helene’s deadly floodwaters are demanding answers from the company after its officials claimed no flood warnings or alerts were issued before the start of the workers’ shift,

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating allegations involving Impact Plastics. Employees in the factory in the small community of Erwin asserted that they weren’t allowed to leave in time to avoid Hurricane Helene's impact.
