Bastrop's annual Mardi Gras Ball and Festival has been canceled because of the predicted frigid weather conditions expected over the weekend, organizers said.

After Bastrop's Mardi Gras Festival was canceled by weather in January, the city kept the New Orleans-style spirit alive by hosting Fat Tuesday downtown on Feb. 17.
