Marshall's women's basketball team found itself unable to keep up with the homestanding Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a 76-64 defeat Wednesday night.  Marshall (6-15, 1-9 SBC) made a season-best seven 3-pointers in the opening 10 minutes of the contest.

The Chanticleers’ only Sun Belt win came against UL Monroe two weeks back. The Herd and Chanticleers are meeting for the fifth time and Marshall has taken three of the first four matchups. The teams split their games last season, with both winning at home.
