Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has kept a fan favourite easter egg. Petalburg's Fire Emblem pedalling Toad is alive and well, albeit with the same Game Boy obsession they had decades ago.

The original "Paper Mario" was something of a swan song for the Nintendo 64, coming out in 2000 (The N64's successor, the GameCube, would hit the market in 2001) to wide critical acclaim.
