The California Department of Public Health is confirming a total of six human cases of the bird flu across the Golden State and all are in Central Valley patients, with a possible seventh case waiting to be confirmed.

Authorities said they believe that the evidence continues to suggest the virus spreads only from animals to humans despite two cases at the same farm.
