Storm Herminia has led the Met Office to issue a host of new weather warnings for the UK this morning, with heavy rain and wind expected to hit the country over the next 24 hours

Brighton, London, Leicester, and Nottingham are some of the cities that will see the strong spells starting from 10 pm today, with the warning ending at 7 am the following day (Monday 27 January). The warning set for Northern Ireland, including Belfast, is set to end at 7 pm.
Storm Éowyn flooding possible over weekend as rain warnings follow 100mph winds
Some places could see up to 80mm of rainfall over the period from two separate spells of heavy rain and thundery showers, while 10 to 20mm should fall quite widely and 30 to 50mm could fall over high ground. Flooding to homes and businesses could occur in the warning area, with power cuts and difficult driving conditions also possible.
