Central Indiana Schools Experience Data Breach
(Statewide) – Indiana students are among millions across the country affected by a December 28 Power School data breach that exposed information on schools, students and families. Fayette County Schools is among the districts confirming their data was exposed. The bulk of the schools confirming a data breach are in Central Indiana.
Data from southern Indiana students, teachers affected by PowerSchool hack
The student data was compromised through PowerSchool could include names, social security numbers, birthdates and contact information. PowerSchool provides a platform to assist districts with enrollment, communication, attendance and learning management. In total, the program provides the service for more than 60 million students.
Schools across the nation are confirming they were impacted when hackers stole data from PowerSchool.
