Another round of lake effect snow expected this week in Central NY
Syracuse, N.Y. -- The first full week back to work after the holidays will bring yet another lake effect snowstorm to Central New York. This one won’t drop as much snow as the storm that wrapped up over the weekend, but it could still bring 10 inches or more to the Syracuse area through Thursday.

Syracuse could see a foot or more of snow by the time the multiday storm winds down this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. The lake effect bull’s-eye that is the Tug Hill plateau could see 3 feet. The southwest corner of the state could also see a foot or more as winds blow in from the northwest.

The NWS says "heavy" lake-effect snow is projected to bring up to 20 inches of snow in areas of upstate New York by Thursday. Additional bands of the lake-effect snow could bring the total to 3 feet. Following are the snow projections for the three states:
