Pat Fischer, a 17-year NFL veteran and three-time Pro Bowl cornerback for St. Louis and Washington, has died at age 84.

Pat Fischer, a feisty and fearsome if diminutive defensive back who played 17 seasons in the National Football League, including the final 10 with Washington, died Oct. 8 in Ashburn, Va., after suffering from dementia.

Pat Fischer, the two-time All-Pro cornerback who spent nearly two decades in the NFL, has died at the age of 84. A spokesperson for the Washington Commanders confirmed his passing in a statement to The Associated Press.
