The Reds on Monday reassigned six players to minor league camp, with five of those players being optioned to the Triple-A Louisville Bats including infielder Noelvi Marte, a candidate for third base this spring. Tyler Callihan, Rece Hinds, right-handed pitcher Connor Phillips and right-handed pitcher Yosver Zulueta were also optioned to Louisville.

In Noelvi Marté’s first start in the big leagues, he wore a shin guard and elbow guard with splashes of yellow. They were small parts of the whole, but because the color is nowhere in the Cincinnati Reds’ palette,
