Sebastian Stan has played a wide array of characters thus far in his career, but perhaps the showiest of them all comes this weekend, when his portrayal of a young and upwardly mobile Donald Trump is showcased in the buzzy new film “The Apprentice.

The film first screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May, where it drew huge controversy and legal threats from the ex-president, particularly for a scene in which Trump is shown raping his first wife.

As the 2024 movie schedule continues, one particularly controversial film is set to hit theaters is The Apprentice. Just weeks before Americans decide between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in the U.

While speaking with reporters on the red carpet, Stan shared that the timing of the film is "fortuitous" Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong are finally premiering their new movie about Donald Trump. On Tuesday,

“The Apprentice,” directed by the Iranian-Danish filmmaker Abbasi and scripted by Gabriel Sherman, puts the Cohn-Trump relationship at its center, and in doing so, gives Strong and Stan two of the best roles of their careers. Strong calls Cohn “probably the single most fascinating person I’ve ever studied and interrogated and attempted to inhabit.”

The film is being distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, so it’s not as easy to say where “The Apprentice” will become available. As the 2024 U.S. presidential election draws closer, audiences are getting a chance to see Republican candidate Donald Trump from a different perspective.
