Detroit forward Patrick Kane will miss his second consecutive game when the Red Wings host the Lightning Saturday night

Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane (upper body) won't play on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kane also missed Thursday's game, but head coach Todd McLellan said that Kane remains day-to-day.

Todd McLellan voiced a very powerful comment to the players in the Detroit Red Wings locker room, including a special mention for veteran leader Patrick Kane.

Victor Hedman was named captain of Team Sweden for the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday. The 34-year-old defenseman is in his first season as captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning. This is the first time Hedman will captain Sweden in international play. He was an assistant captain for Sweden at the 2024 IIHF World Championships, where they won bronze.

Veteran forward Andrew Copp said the Detroit Red Wings have a togetherness they lacked before head coach Todd McLellan was hired in late December.
