Falcons fire defensive coordinator, D-line coach after poor finish
ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons fired defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake and defensive line coach Jay Rodgers on Saturday in the wake of first-year head coach Raheem Morris offering sharp criticism of his defense's disappointing finish.
Based on the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs, the Falcons would have been one of the weaker entries in the playoffs and are a ways off from being a legitimate NFL contender.
