A Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputy who was severely injured in a crash while on duty last week has been identified and a GoFundMe has been organized to aid in his recovery. SCSO Sergeant Samuel C.

Sgt. Samuel C. Lilley of Shelby County is in a coma after a motorcycle crash; the community has raised nearly $35,000 to support him.

An active investigation is underway in southeast Shelby County on Monday morning. Deputies are working the scene along Cutter Mill Road, not far from Shelby Drive and Riverdale Road. Sheriff vehicles are currently blocking the entire street.

There is a heavy law enforcement presence in southeast Shelby County early Monday morning. The scene is located in the area of Riverdale and Clearpoint Drive. There is limited information at this time.
