The New York Yankees and veteran reliever Tyler Matzek have agreed on a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training, sources told ESPN's Monday night, adding another experienced left-hander to the bullpen mix on the eve of camp.

The Yankees and left-handed reliever Tyler Matzek are in agreement on a Minor League deal, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. The club has not confirmed the report, which comes a couple of days after the Yankees brought back lefty Tim Hill on a one-year contract.

Matzek returned to the Braves after he was released by the Giants but didn’t return appear in the majors upon his return. The veteran left-hander debuted for Atlanta in 2020 and was a key member of the Braves bullpen that season and in 2021.

The Yankees are nearing an agreement with free agent reliever Tyler Matzek, reports Chris Cotillo of MassLive. The veteran southpaw held a showcase for teams last month.

Instead of retreating, the Bronx Bombers added Max Fried, Devin Williams, Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt. The team has certainly been busy this offseason and looks to have a good chance to return to the World Series in 2025.
