The problem on Sunday (October 6, 2024) did not really start after the show. Indications of what might happen were apparent from 8.30 a.m. itself when a huge crowd turned out at Velachery railway station to reach the beach to witness the air show.

The Lighthouse metro station nearby and Chennai MRTS railway station at Velachery, which serves as the closest junction connecting Chintadripet near the Marina, were swarmed by several hundreds of people and many found it difficult to even get a foothold to stand on the platform.

Tamil Nadu's capital, Chennai is all set to host airshow today on the occasion of 92nd Air Force Day at Marina Beach. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will be conducting an airshow on Sunday ahead of the Air Force Day on October 8.

The IAF conducted a full dress rehearsal at the airshow on Friday in coordination with the Tambaram unit of the IAF. It is the third time the IAF conducted its airshow outside the national capital and the first time in South India.
