Dallas police are investigating a shooting involving an officer Tuesday afternoon near White Rock Lake. Officers and an ambulance were called to assist in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive, not far from Casa View Elementary School,

Dallas police officers shot and critically wounded a man who waved a gun at drivers and pointed the weapon at officers on Tuesday afternoon, the department said. The shooting occurred about 3:20 p.m. in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive in northeast Dallas, after police arrived to investigate reports of the man waving his gun at motorists.

Officers were dispatched about 11:45 a.m. Sunday to the 5300 block of Botham Jean Boulevard, near Haven Street.
