The North Dakota State Bison won the FCS Championship on Monday night beating the top-ranked Montana State Bobcats, 35-32. Montana State came into the game undefeated but fell behind early and was never able to catch up.

North Dakota State staved off a second half comeback by Montana State to end the Bobcats’ undefeated season and earn the 10th FCS title in NDSU history on Monday night with a 35-32 win. After Montana State QB Tommy Mellott — the 2024 Walter Payton Award winner for the best player at the FCS level — cut North Dakota State’s lead to 28-25 on a 44-yard TD run with 11:25 to go,
