One of baseball's top insiders believes the Boston Red Sox should sign Alex Bregman, but only under one condition.

If the Sox want to do that and move Lucas Giolito to the bullpen, then that works. However, if Spring Training becomes only weeks away and Scherzer isn’t on anyone’s roster, he could become the Sox’s newest bullpen arm.

According to longtime MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, that inaction might be a ploy from the Red Sox — especially if it leads to a desperate Bregman eventually lowering his contract demands with spring right around the corner.
