UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley discussed Liam McNeeley's imminent return during a pregame presser ahead of Wednesday's DePaul game.

Liam McNeeley sustained a high-ankle sprain Jan. 1 at DePaul and UConn men's basktball has gone 4-3 in his absence.

UConn basketball currently holds a 14-6 record so far in the 2024-25 season. They have not played their best basketball by any means, but the Huskies are still competing at a respectable level. The team can use all of the help they can get,

Dan Hurley’s frustration with his UConn team has only grown with each game during Liam McNeeley’s recovery. But he feels the freshman can eventually help turn things around.

In McNeeley’s absence, Saint Mary’s transfer Aidan Mahaney has shown the ability to step up -- he went for 14 points against Xavier -- but has been largely inconsistent. He’s averaging 5.2 points after averaging 13.9 ppg the last two seasons in the WCC.

UConn will return to action on Saturday for a huge road matchup against Marquette. The Huskies and Golden Eagles will tip things off at 7:00 ET from Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the game will be airing on Fox. Marquette will likely be big favorites in this one.
