Alabama workers will soon be traveling to North Carolina to assist people affected by Hurricane Helene. The Alabama Department of Public Health will be sending a support team made up of nine people to provide assistance across North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.

As many families begin to rebuild after Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact robbed whole communities of the things they hold near and dear, one North Carolina family is grieving the loss of 11 of its family members.

The damage wrought by Hurricane Helene was especially extensive in western North Carolina, a region far from the Florida coast where the system made landfall as a Category 4 storm.
