It’s been eight months since Sony made PSN accounts mandatory for PlayStation games on PC, but players still aren’t over the change. Whenever Sony announces a Steam port for a PlayStation game, players express shock and bewilderment that all the hue and cry simply hasn’t worked.

The Last of Us Part 2 remaster is joining the PlayStation Network club. That means you’ll need to link a PSN account if you want to play the game after buying it on Steam, Epic Games, and other PC platforms when it launches in April, as spotted earlier by Video Games Chronicle.

Sony confirms that the PC port of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will require a PlayStation Network account to play upon release later this year.

Ubisoft, a French video game maker, revealed that it had appointed advisors to pursue transformational capitalistic and strategic options. The company had previously revealed that its founding family was considering a potential buyout.

As spotted by VGC on January 9, the Steam and Epic Store pages for The Last of Us Part 2 went live recently and both pages include confirmation that, yup, Sony is still forcing people to log in to a PSN account to play its latest PlayStation ports. Yes, even when the game is a single-player only adventure, like The Last of Us Part 2.

Sony has signalled that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC requires a PSN account three months before the game’s release on Steam. As spotted by VGC, the Steam page for Naughty Dog’s single-player adventure includes the now-standard Sony requirement for a PlayStation Network account.
