Subaru hasn’t discussed fuel economy ratings for the new 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid, but given how the gasoline-only models perform and based on estimates set by the company for the larger and heavier Forester Hybrid, it should get 35 mpg in combined driving (if not more).

Subaru has detailed its long-awaited hybrid Crosstrek SUV in the US. Poised to debut in the US before the middle half of the year, Australia is expected to follow later in 2025 with the all-new, sixth-generation Forester Hybrid to precede it.

It will be all-wheel drive, and Subaru says it maintains the gas Crosstrek's off-road capability. It will have the X-Mode off-road drive mode of Subaru's best off-roaders as well
