The chairman of the NH L's Nashville Predators and his wife want to bring the WNBA to Music City and have teamed up with a star-filled investor group including Candace Parker, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and entertainers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Haslam and a group of investors are submitting an expansion bid to bring Nashville a WNBA team, called the Tennessee Summitt. The bid will be submitted on Thursday afternoon to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and the league’s expansion committee. If successful, the franchise would begin play in the summer of 2028 at Bridgestone Arena.

A group of investors, including a former governor of Tennessee, has made a bid to bring a professional women’s basketball team to the Volunteer State. Former Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and his wife are reportedly leading a group of investors in the bid to bring a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team to Nashville.
