Berkshire Hathaway bought up more VeriSign shares as the final days of 2024 ticked away. Warren Buffett’s company paid $15.6 million from Dec. 26 through Monday for 76,487 more shares of VeriSign, a provider of internet domain-name registry services.

VeriSign is ranked 5th in the S&P 500 for the highest profit margin, at about 56%, tied with Nvidia, according to third-quarter financial data.

Warren Buffett has invested more than $74 million in a Reston company best known for controlling internet domains for organizations across the globe.

Geico, and pension plans of other Berkshire Hathaway units bought nearly $30 million of shares of domain-name registry firm VeriSign.

As per Benzinga Pro data, VeriSign has a consensus price target of $243.67 based on the ratings of three analysts. As per the most-recent analyst rating by Baird has set an average price target of $216.67 with an implied 3.67% upside for the company.

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway did what it does best in 2024—beat the market. While the S&P 500 had a historic 24% gain, Berkshire came out on top again, sticking to its decades-old strategy of value investing.

Warren Buffett, the renowned investor and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has been a net seller of stocks for the past two years. From October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2024, Buffett sold more stock than he purchased for eight consecutive quarters.
