A major terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir, which occurred shortly after the assembly elections, has claimed seven lives so far. The responsibility for this attack has been claimed by a relatively new terrorist organization in the region called The Resistance Front (TRF),

Terror reared its ugly head in Jammu-Kashmir once again on Sunday night. Two terrorists, allegedly belonging to The Resistance Front, opened fire at a Ganderbal campsite of labourers, killing six migrant workers and a doctor.

Gunmen killed at least seven workers, and injured five others, at a key tunnel project in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, according to the police, making it one of the worst attacks on an infrastructure project in the volatile Indian region.

In a joint operation, the armed forces killed one heavily armed terrorist and recovered arms and ammunition in Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, the authorities said a war-like store of ammunition was found at the encounter site.
