The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced a delay in its ambitious Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX), owing to an unexpected drift between the two mission satellites. The issue was identified during a maneuver aimed at reducing the distance between the satellites to 225 meters.

The two satellites launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for a space docking experiment may soon attain the conditions needed to commence the mission. The docking experiment, originally scheduled for Thursday, was postponed after the satellites drifted more than expected during a manoeuvre to reduce the distance between them.

Sharing the timeline over SpaDex mission, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Tuesday said that the drifts between the satellites involved in the docking experiment have been arrested and the conditons for the docking initialisation experiment will likely begin tomorrow.

ISRO has placed the spacecrafts involved in its Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) into a slow drift course to facilitate their approach after previously postponing the docking due to satellite drift.

The space organisation had initially planned the docking for January 7 forenoon, but rescheduled it to January 9. It now stands postponed again.
