Firefighters are battling a 10-acre brush fire currently burning in Ventura County. It was first reported at around 7:45 p.m. in the Santa Clara River bottom near N. Ventura Boulevard, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

The Auto Fire has burned nearly 61 acres in Ventura, California Monday night and was at 47% containment Tuesday afternoon.

Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley said Tuesday that “life-threatening and destructive and widespread winds” are in the region, which could fuel the growth of new or existing wildfires in Los Angeles County and Ventura County.

"We are not out of the woods yet. Please stay on guard for a fast-moving fire," the weather service's Los Angeles office warned.
