Oct 23, 2013 · The owner bought the cheapest single stage the paint shop had, Nason Urethane. After shooting we did a light scuff with 1200 to let it gas off for a week. Went back and did a couple passes on a panel with 1500 and the primer underneath is starting to show through. Was told that that paint is very transparent cause its cheap.

Jan 17, 2004 · The only draw backs are color matching and perhaps quality control. I opened a gallon of Nason clear once and it had chunks of stuff in it. I recently used the Martin Senior Value line paint and it worked out well for a low end paint. A gallon of BC/CC color and a gallon of clear for $180.00 bucks is not bad.

Nov 15, 2013 · If you have trouble getting the scratches out, then try to find 3000 grit wet paper, or spring for the Trizact pads. They are expensive, but 2-3 will do the whole car, so $12-$18 would definitely save you a lot of time buffing and a lot of compound as well. The last 3M products I used were not very aggressive at all.

So true since anything else will show through the typically translucent pigments, thus making Yellow a "two-step" at best. Nason (Dupont) Ful-Thane (Acrylic Urethane) single stage, color sanded and buffed on this one.

I have my Dads pickup in for a paintjob, and had planned to use Concept. But at $840 for gallon of paint, hardener, and reducer, I decided to give Ful-thane a go.

Sep 17, 2007 · Nason single stage urethane is great paint for several reasons, 1) if it's a solid color (not metallic) you can wet sand out a run, sag or dirt nibs. Then buff to a good shine. 2) you can also apply clear coat over it right away for a deeper looking finish. Other reasons for using it is, Very durable, and holds up longer than acrylic enamel.
