Jan 15, 2019 · Concrete is a better insulator than steel, so I would assume that given similar design specs for size, airflow, and heat source location, a smoker constructed out of cinder blocks would be more efficient at heat retention than a steel one. My guess is that portability, not cooking efficiency, is the main concern with the concrete designs.

We figured out to put some rocks in there bigger than the holes, that would keep the pigs pushing the pipe even when the corn was gone. Dec 3, 2023 · Thermal definitely has the advantage for long range detection and obscured view detection over DNV for sure, but within its working range, DNV far exceeds thermal for positive id. When I either predator or hog hunt my routine it detect with a thermal monocular and then shoot with DNV with an external IR illuminator.

Nov 24, 2019 · You're best bet is to build a trap from t-posts and hog panels. Wire the door open and bait them into it for a few days. Then set the door and repair the trap. I've caught whole Sounders inaugural trap made from 8 panels. If you want to hunt them, talk to your neighbors. We live in a rural subdivision with about 12 houses, each on 3 -5 acres.

These examples aren't mobile home parks for long term stays where you are right next to the next person - these type offer more of a camping experience. We know the owners of one of them & they started small.
