I downloaded and installed the .exe... it paused for a few minutes during installation, then completed. First time I tried to run it nothing seemed to happen.

Apr 7, 2015 · Now for the last couple of weeks I switched to VLC 3.0.3 Linux build and it works fine - no issues at all, I use it for watching video courses, tv shows and music. It's only briefly tested it in Windows 7 with VLC 3.0.3 portable and it seems to work fine. If someone wants to try it here is the git repo (details are explained there).

Playing .mp3 files from my Synolgy NAS server and VLC pauses every 10-15 seconds or so while it appears to retrieve the next tranche of music. The green progress bar turns yellow for 1-2 seconds. This does not happen with Windows Media Player.
