The last time I’d never heard of them and wasn’t quick enough to capture it in its glory. But today I was on it. It’s so brief. So beautiful. A quick post this morning as mum and I are off to town to grab our weekly shop and then get home to the vale as fast as possible. A little reminder of the lovely Bell who I so enjoyed drawing in colour pencil earlier this year. And a reminder too that most of my paintings (and drawings) take many hours and with endless thought going into every stroke (or the drawing like this). For the next 4 days I’m posting short films of my original paintings that lurk in my workroom but would love a home. I’m starting with the smallest ones. I hope you enjoying seeing them in real life (ish). I use beautiful, thick, watercolour paper. I’m off to muck out donkeys now but will be back tomorrow with some more. I’ve never posted one of these on facebook before as I worry about resolution. But here’s a first go. This is from the Robin picture I painted during one of the lockdowns with the words ‘I just miss you’. As it seemed to be the most common feeling that was coming up everywhere I looked. I painted the background colour first, then the robin. I then planned my lettering out on paper, drawing each letter by hand (no computer used at all). I then did another copy on tracing paper so I could get them
